Qualitative study of root canal shaping during ultrasonic instrumentation with different files

Abstract
Introduction and objective: The proposal of this study was to verify the quality of ultrasonic instrumentation shaping influenced by different types of files – K, K-flex and nickel-titanium – and different trademarks. Material and methods: 30 blocks with simulated canals were divided randomly in three groups in agreement with type of file and trademark.They were prepared by crown-down technique, with apical third prepared in agreement with the division. Results: Through statistical analysis it was possible to notice that the group of K-flex files FKG® obtained statistically significant difference when compared to groups K FKG®, K Dentsply-Maillefer® and K-flex Dentsply-Maillefer®. The group of K-flex files Dentsply-Maillefer® has also showed difference when compared to group of nickel-titanium files FKG®.Conclusion: The ultrasonic system can cause apical alteration with lacerated foramen, and the trademark can influence the final result.
