Quality of life after therapeutic massage in people with disabilities from the pains of the lower spine

Abstract

Background: Each dysfunction, ailment or prolonged pain in diseases of the lower spine leads to reduced quality of life. Thus, any therapeutic effect, including massage, which results in a reduction in pain and improvement of medical fitness, has a substantial impact on improving the quality oflife of the patient.Aim of the study: Quality of life and its comparison after using proprietary therapeutic massage program at the disabled with pain as lower back.Material and methods: I seek underwent 30 people (17 men and 13 women) aged 25–66 years, the workforce of the Sheltered Workshop “Agema Service”. They had a judgment about the degree of disability moderate or severe. Quality of life was based on a survey conducted using qualitative indicators before and after the application of a rehabilitation program in the classical aspects: a) well-being and subjective sensation of pain; b) self-service and daily functioning in their homeenvironment; c) functioning at work and perform professional activities; d) social life and social life.Results: The conducted survey confirmed that respondents feel that improved quality of life for all examined aspects. After treatment, 43.3% of people stated that it felt good, 26.8%, that very well. Wrong feel just 4 people. The majority of respondents saw an improvement in the performance of self and activities of daily living in the home and work. One quarter of the respondents had no pain during prolonged sitting at work, the pain slightly disturbed 16 persons (53.3%), while the average6 or often (20%). Improve the quality of sleep reported 22 patients (73.3%). Sorry among small portion of respondents increased social activity and social. Only in 7 patients (23.4%) improved considerably, which meant that because pain is not limited physical activity, social gatherings and social.Conclusions: The program of therapeutic massage treatments is a valuable and effective technique psychophysical, which helps you in a relatively short period of time to achieve a positive outcome relies on relief of symptoms and spinal pain syndrome often accompanying lowering of mood in peoplewith disabilities, living in a sheltered workshop. It confirmed the importance of medical rehabilitation of persons with disabilities to reduce pain and the impact this has on vocational rehabilitation and social rehabilitation. Despite the reduction in pain lower back unfortunately it did not much influence youto take wider action by patients in physical activity.
