Quality of Life Related to Health and Working at Home during the Pandemic Caused by COVID-19
Journal Title: RHS-Revista Humanismo y Sociedad - Year 2022, Vol 10, Issue 2
Abstract
This document reports the results of a study that aimed to recognize how teleworking, working at home and remote work have influenced the habits of people who have had to adapt to these work modalities due to the effect of the pandemic caused by COVID-19. A quantitative methodological approach with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental-cross-sectional design was applied, with a sample of 318 legal age workers, with active employment contracts, who worked in one of those mentioned modalities. The results evidenced several realities: the preference of the participants for some of these work modalities; the little accompaniment by the companies revealed by working conditions; the affectations manifested by the participants in their eating habits, as well as a decrease in their physical activity and, as a consequence, a reduction in their health. The variants shown by the study are a significant contribution for organizations, since they can take them into account to continue implementing good practices in their work. It is clear that companies must improve the support they provide to their workers and identify early physical and mental health issues that may affect their work performance or quality of life.
