Radial bow- its importance in return of rotation after fixation of fracture both bones forearm in adult
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 4
Abstract
Rotations of the forearm are very essential for activities of daily living1. Diaphyseal fractures of Both Bones of the Forearm often lead to loss of rotations of the forearm. So an essential aspect of management of such fractures is achieving near normal rotations of the forearm as this affects patient’s perception of their functional outcome. Plate fixation is the treatment of choice of fracture Both Bones Forearm in adults as it restores length, apposition, axial and rotational alignment and gives good functional outcome. Previous studies have shown the importance of restoration of Radial bow in achieving maximal rotational movement of forearm. But some of the recent studies have been unable to find a significant association between restoration of Radial bow and the return of rotations of the forearm. So this study was done to determine the relation between the Radial bow and rotations of forearm after plate fixation of fracture Both Bones of Forearm.

Management of supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children: Conservative versus operative
Background and Objectives: Supracondylar fractures of the humerus are the most common fracture pattern of the elbow in children. Severely displaced supracondylar fractures of the distal humerus in children are a challeng...
Prospective study of hemiarthroplasty for intracapsular fracture neck of femur using modular bipolar prosthesis
Fracture neck of femur is a leading cause of hospital admissions in elderly age group. The number of such admissions is on a rise because of increased longevity, osteoporosis and sedentary habits. Conservative methods of...
Schwannoma of the tendon sheath of biceps femoris in 20 year old male: A rare case report
Schwannomas are benign tumors arising from the peripheral nerves with a Schwann cell sheath. Schwannomas can be found in almost every region, but are usually associated with cranial, spinal, sympathetic and peripheral ne...
Posterior cruciate ligament avulsion from the Tibia: Fixation by a posterior approach
The authors present their experience with a posterior approach for fixation of posterior Cruciate ligament avulsion from the tibia. Avulsion usually occurs at the tibial insertion. The approach is easy, safe and demands...
Surgical treatment of chronic Achilles tendon rupture functional and anatomical outcomes over a mean follow-up period of two years
Background: The aim of this paper was to report the functional and clinical results of subcutaneous Achilles tendon rupture repairs through two surgical plasty techniques, with a mean follow-up of 2 years. Patients and m...
