Radon measurements from soil in Cluj area

Journal Title: EcoTerra (Journal of Environmental Research and Protection) - Year 2010, Vol 24, Issue 24

Abstract

One of the most prominent component of natural radioactivity is radon. The radiation produced by the decay of radon atoms and its daughters, that are also radioactive elements, creates a significant natural hazard and it poses a serious health risk. Cluj area measurements show relatively high concentrations of radon; therefore the detection and monitoring of areas with high concentration of radon are very important.
