Rational approach to choice of topical therapy of patients with onychomycosis

Abstract
Objective — to increase the efficacy of treatment of patients with onychomycosis by appointing topical therapy with Onychocid® Emtrix complex. Materials and methods. The analysis of modern research on the prevalence of onychomycosis, features of clinical course and methods of treatment was conducted. Results and discussion. Onychomycoses are extremely widespread, longlasting and have toxic and sensitizing action of fungal infection on the patient’s body. The incidence of onychomycoses increases with age, reaching a maximum in the elderly and old age. The drug of choice for topical treatment of onychomycosis is a complex drug Onychocid® Emtrix, which is characterized by efficiency and safety. Conclusions. Complex drug Onychocid® Emtrix is a drug of choice for topical treatment of patients with onychomycosis. It can be recommended as monotherapy for patients with concomitant somatic pathology.
