Real options in a systemic approach to the timing problem in development projects
Journal Title: Operations Research and Decisions - Year 2015, Vol 25, Issue 3
Abstract
The management environment at the beginning of the XXI century is characterized by high volatility. Development projects should take into account not only certain deliverables but also any opportunities that may arise. These opportunities are called real options. The paper describes a systems approach to various types of real options that can be found in a project’s environment. A method is presented for using such options in the timing problem.

Perturbation algorithm for a minimax regret minimum spanning tree problem
The problem of finding a robust spanning tree has been analysed. The problem consists of determining a minimum spanning tree of a graph with uncertain edge costs. We should determine a spanning tree that minimizes the di...
Analysis of the voting method used in the European Central Bank
Game theoreticians usually deal with standard voting methods such as plurality voting or approval voting. In reality however, some complicated non-standard voting methods are used. In this paper the voting method and rot...
On types of responsiveness in the theory of voting
In mathematics, monotonicity is used to denote the nature of the connection between variables. Hence for example, a variable is said to be a monotonically increasing function of another variable if an increase in the val...
On the performance of modified EWMA charts using resampling schemes
Two popular sampling schemes have been used to design control charts by means of a modified exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) statistic. The structures of the proposed charts, using repetitive group sampling a...
A game theoretical study of generalised trust and reciprocation in Poland: II. A description of the study group
