Real road network application of a new microsimulation tool: TRITONE
Journal Title: Archives of Transport - Year 2013, Vol 27, Issue 3
Abstract
The aim of the paper is to carry out a comparative study of 13 different traffic flow models available in TRITONE, a new road traffic simulator that specializes particularly in quantitative road safety assessment. After a short introduction on a traffic flow modelling, a description of the TRITONE functionality is given and various types of behavioural models available in this tool are presented in brief. Then a part of Poznan (Poland) network that served as the study area, was illustrated. The following section lists all the models used in the research and provides a comparison of the results obtained with these models. The article ends with conclusions on the results’ quality of individual models.

Evaluation of the effects of fires and explosions in the transport of hazardous materials
Transportation of liquid and gaseous fuels and chemicals, albeit not frequent, can lead to serious dangers for humans, the environment and property due to fires and explosions. The two most common transportation modes o...
Study of driver behaviour at turbo-roundabouts
The article presents the results of preliminary research into the behaviour of drivers at turbo-roundabouts. The subject of the research included the frequency of driver behaviour against the traffic rules, and the speed...
Selected Problems of Determining the Course of Railway Routes by Use of GPS Network Solution
The main problem related to railroad surveying design and its maintenance is the necessity to operate in local geodetic reference systems caused by the long rail sections with straight lines and curvatures of the running...
Reliability and availability assessment of diesel locomotive using Fault Tree Analysis
The article presents an application of a method based on fault tree analysis and the Monte Carlo simulation in the assessment of reliability and availability of the rail means of transport. The primary target of the pres...
Formal Notation of a Logistic System Model Taking into Consideration Cargo Stream Transformations
The modeling of logistic systems is a complex task. Specific goals to be attained by the systems (mainly cargo stream form transformations) and the diversity of resources used within the systems are the main reasons. The...
