Realization of communicative purposes in the process of working with English text on specialty

Abstract
Subject under consideration in this article is the main types of communicative exercises in general training system for spoken language development. Basic accent has been emphasized into exercises during English-speaking text assignments on specialty. Materials give possibilities to get acquainted with various types of exercises that assist realization of communicative objectives during text on specialty. Article is a supplementary method to main ways of teaching procedure. Feasibility selection and use of authentic English texts in teaching of students of non-language universities are driven by the following factors: Authentic English text is valuable information and supplementing material, that adds to obtained students’ knowledge during study of special disciplines; Texts in specialty are examples of scientific prose, a model of key theoretical concepts that can serve as an example of creating own secondary text in writing essays and other creative tasks; Authentic texts are a source of students’ special vocabulary enrichment, an example of the use terminological vocabulary in the context that helps to concretize the words’ meaning; The texts are the stimulus for intellectual and speech activity of students during interactive communication through reading. The source of vocabulary replenishment by students of non-linguistic specialties are also authentic English materials in the form of business letters, contracts, declarations, protocols, business meetings, price lists, summaries and reports on the implementation of projects. Various authentic materials are taken from real life and are not created specifically to foreign language teaching. It is necessary to recall the definition of criteria for professional texts selecting. They are the following: situational, this is the connection with certain typical situations of communication; illustrative – the ability of text to illustrate the situation; cognitive value that is important both in informative and socio-cultural terms; availability, that is the simplicity that allows the students to understand the professionally oriented text; methodological value; linguistic value, that is the compliance of the text extract with such features as communicative, semantic, content and structural coherence and completeness.
