Recognition of the holotype by monotypy of Dactylozodes bruchi Kerremans, 1903 and description of a new species of Lasionota Mannerheim, 1837 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) from West-Central Argentina
Journal Title: REVISTA CHILENA DE ENTOMOLOGÍA - Year 2022, Vol 48, Issue 2
Abstract
The type specimen of Dactylozodes bruchi Kerremans (= Lasionota (Lasionota) bruchi (Kerremans) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) was localized and recognized as the holotype by monotypy. Its synonymies, Dactylozodes rubidipennis and D. rubidipennis ab. suturinotata (unavailable intrasubspecific name), were studied through the original descriptions and photographs of part of the type material, confirming that they are conspecific with L. (L.) bruchi. Additionally, based on a single female specimen collected in the locality of Zapala (Neuquén province, Argentina), a new species of Lasionota from West-Central Argentina is described and illustrated. The specimen from which the new taxon was described was preliminarily identified as L. (L.) bruchi, a species with which it cohabits. However, it was concluded that the specimen corresponds to a new species after the study of type and non-type material of L. (L.) bruchi and their synonyms.
