Recovery of Lithium from Geothermal Fluid at Lumpur Sidoarjo by Adsorption Method
Journal Title: Journal of Engineering and Technological Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 48, Issue 2
Abstract
The recovery of lithium from geothermal fluid at Lumpur Sidoarjo, Indonesia was investigated employing an adsorption method with polymer membrane as container. The lithium concentration in geothermal fluid from Lumpur Sidoarjo used in the present study was about 5 mg/l. Lithium manganese oxide (LMO) was selected as a promising adsorbent material due to its non-toxic, topotactical behavior and low cost. In this study, LMO with single Li/Mn mole ratio was prepared, i.e. Li1.6Mn1.6O4. The adsorbent was synthesized by solid state reaction at 500 °C for 5 hrs. A lithium uptake yield from the geothermal fluid of around 6.6 mg/g was obtained.

Application of Large-Scale 3D Non-Orthogonal Boundary Fitted Sediment Transport Model and Small-Scale Approach for Offshore Structure in Cimanuk Delta North Java Sea
The morphology of the Cimanuk Delta at the North Java Sea has changed rapidly over the last two decades. The annual sediment deposition is about two million cubic meters (Yuanita and Tingsanchali, [1]). The large-scale o...
Determination of Gas Pressure Distribution in a Pipeline Network using the Broyden Method
A potential problem in natural gas pipeline networks is bottlenecks occurring in the flow system due to unexpected high pressure at the pipeline network junctions resulting in inaccurate quantity and quality (pressure) a...
Study of Micro-hardness of High-Speed W9Mo4Co8 Steel Plates in Pendulum Grinding by Abrasive Wheel Periphery
In cutting tool assembly, grinding is the most important technological step of the finishing treatment, largely determining the workmanship. An increase of micro-hardness after grinding relative to the original one indic...
Tectonics and Geological Factors Controlling Cleat Development in the Barito Basin, Indonesia
