Reflectarea principiului egalității de șanse în alegerile din anul 2016

Journal Title: Sfera Politicii - Year 2016, Vol 24, Issue 3

Abstract

In the life of a nation, elections are an important moment. Changes of the election system involve always both the engagement of human, financial, and logistical resources, etc., and the revival of the political forces and the onset of the battle for power. In our study, we performed an analysis of the way in which local and parliamentary elections took place both in terms of the women’s presence on candidate lists, and in terms of the mandates and management positions they obtained. The changes which had been made to electoral law - prior to the two types of elections - did not bring unfortunately an improvement in women’s representation within the elected authorities. Likewise the implementation of the principle of equal opportunities has remained a public discourse.
