REGIONÁLNA IDENTITA OBYVATEĽOVA LIPTOVA

Abstract
The article deals with the current state of regional identity of the inhabit - ants of one of Slovakia’s traditional historic-geographic territorial units – the Liptov region. The structure of the article consists of 4 parts. The first two of them are based on theoretical background. They explain the meaning of the concept of regional identity, its impact, manifestation and consequences from both Slovak and a global point of view. The second two parts deal with the research project. It is focused on the analysis and a survey carried out among the inhabitants of the Liptov region in order to discover connection between the theoretical identity and the real identity of Liptov ́s inhabitants. The concluding part obtains the findings of the survey.
