RELATION BETWEEN WORK-FAMILY LIFE CONFLICT AND LIFE SATISFACTION OF TOURISM ESTABLISHMENTS' EMPLOYEES; KARTEPE-ÇEŞME EXAMPLE

Abstract
Today, the intense tempo of business life affects negatively the family life of employees so they have conflicts between work and family life. The work-family conflict is the result of employees' having more than one role and individuals' job-related roles lead them to fail to fulfill their family responsibilities. The conflict of work-family life, personal happiness of employees and decrease of their life satisfactions affect levels of job stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment etc. in a way that is important for the companies in which they work. In terms of tourism establishments, due to structure of tourism sector, a stressful working environment is formed for employees for reasons such as; intensive and long working hours, excessive workload, continuous service presentation, intensive communication with customers and emotional labor requirement, therefore it is becoming harder for them to keep their work and private living areas in balance. In this environment, tourism establishments’ employees have work-free time conflict and this conflict by affecting their work and life satisfaction, causes them to have work-family life conflicts. In this context, the study is carried out to determine the relationship between work -family life conflicts and life satisfaction of tourism establishments’ employees in İzmir province Çeşme destination and Kocaeli province Kartepe destination.At this point, conceptual information about work-family conflict and life satisfaction are given, hypotheses are developed, statistical analyzes are made, the obtained data is interpreted and suggestions are made to tourism establishments’ managers in the direction of the obtained data as a result of this research.
