Relational Permanence Routing Protocol under Video Transmission for MANET
Journal Title: International Journal of Computer Science and Communication Networks - Year 2011, Vol 1, Issue 3
Abstract
Video transport over ad hoc networks is more challenging than over other wireless networks. The wireless links in an ad hoc network are not very much error resilient and can go down frequently because of node mobility, interference, channel fading, and the lack of infrastructure. Moreover, typical video applications may need a higher bandwidth and higher reliability connection than that provided by a single link in current or emerging wireless networks. In Ad-hoc networks connection between source and destination may break down and has to be updated regularly. A path between a source-destination pair is called “stable” if it consists of most stable neighbors at each intermediate hops. Certainly it is always desirable that any routing protocol picks up more stable paths. In this paper, we propose a modified version of popular AODV routing protocol which discovers its route for sending data and video packets based on the stability of the path. Using simulation we show that our protocol is smart enough to cope with the mobility of the network

A Survey on Spectrum Sensing Techniques in Cognitive Radio
The limited available spectrum and the inefficiency in the spectrum usage necessitate a new communication technology, referred to as cognitive radio (CR) networks. The key characteristic of CR system is that it senses th...
Reduction of THD in Power Systems using STATCOM
In this paper, an operation methodology of a STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) is proposed for reduction in Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in power systems. For achieving this objective a comparison is made betwe...
