RELATIONS BETWEEN TERNARY DESIGNS AND D-OPTIMAL WEIGHING DESIGNS WITH NON-NEGATIVE CORRELATED ERRORS

Abstract
This work was intended as an attempt at motivating to increase the list of possible classes in that we are able to construct optimal plans of experiments. Here, we consider the criterion of D-optimality. We introduce the relations between ternary balanced block designs and chemical balance weighing designs. Based on these relations we propose to construct the design matrix of the regular D-optimal chemical balance weighing design on the base of the set of the incidence matrices of the ternary balanced block designs. We consider these designs under basic assumption that the errors are equally correlated and they have the same variances.

LINEAR STATISTICAL INFERENCE ON THE CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE MAIZE VARIETY ‘ANJOU 258’
The paper deals with an additional particular analysis of the four-year study on the chlorophyll content of the maize variety ‘Anjou 258’. The field trial was conducted every year in a split-plot design at the Agricultur...
CORRELATIONS AMONG CHOSEN TRAITS OF STANDING TREES IN 35-YEARS OLD PINE STANDS
The paper presents results of studies on dependency between chosen stem measurements – DBH (diameter at breast height), height, increment in breast height diameter, slenderness, current increment of tree volume and as tr...
IMPACT OF ALTERNATIVE DISTRIBUTIONS ON QUANTILE-QUANTILE NORMALITY PLOT
Many statistical programs use normal quantile-quantile plots for geometrical visualization of experimental data sets. In the paper we observe how normal quantile-quantile points behave when data sets come from alternativ...
A REMARK ON ESTIMATING DEFECTIVENESS IN SAMPLING ACCEPTANCE INSPECTION
Summary The problem of estimating a probability of success in a Binomial model is considered. The classical estimator is compared with the estimator which uses the information about non-homogeneity of the sample. An appl...
