Abstract

Investigating factors that drive employee turnover has attracted the attention of both scholars and practitioners in the past few decades. The purpose of this study was to add to the body of knowledge on drivers of employee turnover by examining the relationship between continuance commitment and turnover intention among U.S. healthcare internal auditors. The study participants consisted of 92 internal auditors within the healthcare industry in the United States. Using Pearson correlation coefficient to analyze the data, the results indicated that the correlation between continuance commitment and turnover intention was negative and statistically significant (r= -.229, P= .028).
