Relationship between labor markets and international migration: Algeria’s case

Journal Title: Relații Internaționale Plus - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 13

Abstract

This article attempts to clarify the relationship between international migration and the labor market in Algeria. The aim of the work is to identify the relationship between Algerian migration and the main indicators of the labor market. Analysis of the available data revealed two results. The first one points to the peculiarities of the demographic structure of the population, which is responsible for the constant strain on the labor market, as a result of which there is a migration of labor, for which the Algerian state has spent not little money. The second result indicates a low ability of the country’s economy to create jobs that meet the expectations of those who seek it, as a result of which labor migration also occurs.
