Relationship between Mental Health and Quality of Working Life among Clinical Staff of Selected Hospitals of Medical Sciences, Yazd

Abstract

Background: Quality of working life and mental health including the important factors affecting the performance of the organizations. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the quality of working life and mental health clinical staff of the educational selected Hospital of Yazd. Methods: The present study is a cross-sectional analytical study in the years 1395-1394 in three hospitals of Yazd. In total, 350 members of the clinical staff of hospitals participated in the study. Stratified random sampling was performed. Using the quality of working life questionnaires Walton (1973) and mental health Goldberg and Hiller (1979) collected and analyzed by SPSS 22 software and AMUS. Results: Quality of working life with regression coefficient of-) 0.14( affects on mental health. Among the aspects of quality of working life and mental health, belief in the rule of law also symtoms of depression had highest affectivity with regression coefficient of (1.37), (1.90), also physical incompatibility and valid work had lowest affectivity with regression coefficient of (1.00), (0.04), in measuring quality of working life and mental health. Conclusion: According to the study, the modified quality of working life can lead to better mental health and improve clinical staff performance.
