REPROCESING OF ARCHIWAL GEOPHYSICAL DATA AS USEFUL INSTRUMENT IN Cu-Ag DEPOSIT PROSPECTION OF FORE-SUDETIC MONOCLINE

Journal Title: Biuletyn Państwowego Instytutu Geologicznego - Year 2012, Vol 452, Issue 452

Abstract

Modern analysis and interpretation of unpublished results of geophysical studies in terms of acquisition of new information useful in exploration of Cu-Ag deposits allows for effective use of source geophysical materials. Special-made transformations of Bouguer anomalies in the Mozów–Jany–Nowa Sól–Zatonie area, performed in the form of residual anomaly maps and gravity density maps of linear elements of regional and local extent at given depth intervals enabled imaging of tectonic features and lithological changes. Seismic materials converted into effective reflection coefficients (ERC) are characterized by enhanced recording resolution, particularly with regard to P2 deposits. The results of the interpretation provide a more detailed image of the geological structure and allow for the identification of areas of increased thickness of potential ore deposits. Interpretation of geophysical data used in the exploration of Cu-Ag deposits provides new information on the geology of P2 deposits, especially on “anomalous” series at the P1/P2 boundary, and enables the determination of lithological and tectonic discontinuities.
