Research of the banking sector role in the capitalization of region’s economy

Abstract
The article investigates the impact of banking sector in the capitalization of region’s economy. The functions of the banking system are systematized in the article. Significant economic and social role of banking institutions in the development and capitalization of assets of the regions is proven. The issue of concentration of capital of banks in the certain regions, which hinders the development of other territories, is revealed in the article. The main problems of financial institutions are highlighted in the paper. The problems which faced the population due to the depreciation of the currency are considered. It is stated that banks should support small and medium-sized businesses in the underdeveloped regions because this approach could realize the social role of banks in the region and provide an efficient capitalization of the region. The problem of investment activity and projects of the reconstruction of the real sector of economy of the regions is emphasized in the article.
