Research on the value of forest ecosystem service function and its spatial analysis in Xiong’an New Area

Journal Title: Journal of Henan Agricultural University - Year 2022, Vol 56, Issue 4

Abstract

[Objective] In order to evaluate the service function of forest ecosystem in Xiong’an New Area, the value of forest ecosystem service and its spatial correlation with various influencing factors were explored. [Method] This study is based on LY/T 1721—2008“Forest Ecosystem Service Function Evaluation Specification”, combined with the 2018 forest resources type Ⅰ survey data and related ecological observation data, and the forest ecosystem service value assessment method and spatial autocorrelation method were used to analyze the value of forest ecosystem service function and its spatial distribution and spatial correlation in Xiong’an New Area. [Results] (1) In 2018, the total value of forest ecosystem services in Xiong’an New Area was 91 361.55×104 yuan. Among them, the value of carbon sequestration and oxygen release was the highest, which was 41 838.72×104 yuan, and the value of accumulated nutrients was the lowest, which was 2 473.50×104 yuan. The total output value per unit area of forest ecosystem service function was 27.11×104 yuan·hm-2. Among them, the unit area value of water conservation was the highest, which was 11.63×104 yuan·hm-2, and the unit area value of accumulation of nutrients was the lowest, which was 0.64×104 yuan·hm-2. (2) Among all forest types, the ecosystem service value provided by the poplar group and the ecosystem service value provided per unit area were the highest, which was respectively 67 883.37×104 yuan and 4.97×104 yuan·hm-2; the ecological system service value provided by the shrub group was the lowest, which was 171.86×104 yuan; and the lowest ecosystem service value per unit area was the garden tree group, which was 3.92×104 yuan·hm-2. (3) The five service functions of soil conservation, accumulation of nutrients, water conservation, carbon fixation and oxygen release, and purification of atmospheric environment all had strong positive spatial correlations. The population density, the number of industrial enterprises and the value of various service functions of the forest ecosystem showed a negative spatial correlation, while the afforestation area and the value of each service function of the forest ecosystem showed a positive spatial correlation. [Conclusion] The value of forest ecosystem services can be improved accurately and efficiently by reducing the number of industrial enterprises in Beishakou, Daying, Zhugezhuang, Zangang and Xiongzhou towns, reducing the population density or increasing the afforestation area in Daying, Zhugezhuang, Xiongzhou and Gougezhuang towns. One of the effective ways to give full play to and improve the forest ecosystem service value in Xiong’an New Area is to strengthen the protection of poplar group, other broad-leaved forest group and economic forest group, pay attention to the cultivation and management of shrub group, conifer group and garden tree group, and pay attention to the vegetation renewal and forest facies transformation in the study area. This will lay an ecological foundation for the relocation of non-capital functions from Beijing and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.
