RESHORING AND SUPPLY CHAIN SUSTAINABILITY: STRATEGIES FOR BUILDING RESILIENT OPERATIONS

Abstract
The paper highlights reshoring's critical role in making supply chains resilient, sustainable, and effective. It identifies Industry 4.0 technologies like automation, digital twins, and blockchain that help in lowering logistical complexities to make domestic production affordable. It also explores key enablers like government incentives, public-private partnership, and advanced manufacturing systems that are critical in addressing the challenges of workforce upskilling, supply network reconstruction, and policy alignment. The paper situates reshoring as a strategic solution in attaining adaptive, sustainable, and competitive supply chains by analyzing these elements. This is most pertinent within the context of increasingly disrupting global events and the potential need for long-term resilience.
