RETHINKING APPROACHES TO THE FORMATION OF THE STATE’S ECONOMIC POLICY IN THE FACE OF INCREASED THREATS TO ECONOMIC SECURITY

Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of the formation and implementation of economic policy in Ukraine during the period of socio-economic transformations since the beginning of independence. It was found that one of the reasons for the low efficiency of reforms was the lack of a policy model on a clear conceptual basis. It has been proved that the combination of liberal-oriented policy tools with administrative ones, generated negative effects of different orientations, shaped the potential of instability, activating the threats to economic security in the complex of components. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the state’s economic policy did not take into account the priorities of economic security, which limited its strategic efficiency. The necessity of rethinking the state’s economic policy in view of modern challenges and threats in the socio-economic sphere, sphere of defense and security is proved, which requires justification of its safe-oriented model.
