Reversal with Sugammadex in the Absence of Neuromuscular Monitoring
Journal Title: Enliven: Journal of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine - Year 2018, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
Sugammadex provides rapid and reliable recovery of neuromuscular (NM) function from rocuronium or vecuronium-induced NMblockade than neostigmine. The dose of sugammadex, ranges from 2 to 16 mg/kg, is adequately matched with the degree of NM blockade. But, routine clinical care does not normally involve the use of an NMmonitoring device to guide the administration of NM blocking drugs or their antagonists in Korea and many countries.

Red Blood Cell Distribution Width and Mortality in ICU Patients; A Cross Sectional Retrospective Analysis Red Blood Cell Distribution Width and Mortality in ICU Patients
Introduction The red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is a predictor of mortality in many conditions. We investigated the prognostic value of RDW in the general ICU population. Methods Two hundred and seventy-four pa...
Perioperative Fetal Monitoring during Acute Heart Valve Surgery in the 16th Week of Pregnancy: A Case Study with Follow up after Five Years
Cardiac surgery during pregnancy carries an extremely high fetal risk. When conducting anesthesia in the gravid patient care must be taken to avoid uterine contractions, and fetal hypoxia. Thus, in such cases, monitoring...
Renal Artery Stenosis in Patients Undergoing Major Surgery or otherwise Critically Ill: The Short-Circuit between Association and Causality
Risk prediction is an intense field of research and there is an increasing need for an interest in being able to empirically estimate customized, patient-specific risks for virtually all surgical operations in a user fri...
The Effect of Different Levels of Elevated Artificial Pneumoperitoneum Pressure on the Cerebral Perfusion Pressure During Laparoscopic-Cholycystectomy
Background and Aims With increasing laparoscopic surgeries there is a lot of argument about its techniques as regard method for peritoneal cavity approach by creating pneumoperitoneum using Veress needle which may have m...
Minimum Alveolar Concentration Needed to Block Adrenergic Response of Sevoflurane with Nitrous Oxide Varies Depending on the Stimulation Sites in Adult Surgical Patients
Background We examined whether minimum alveolar anesthetic concentration needed to block adrenergic response (MAC-BAR) of sevoflurane with nitrous oxide (N2O) varies depending on body surface sites to which noxious stimu...
