Review on Speech Assistive Technologies for Dysarthric Patients

Abstract

Over the past decade, several speech based electronic assistive technologies have been developed that target users with dysarthric speech. These devices include vocal command and control systems, but also voice input voice output communication aids. This paper aims to survey on various speech assistive technologies which can be used by dysarthric patients and helps them in communication. It also describes the various types of dysarthria on which these devices are based and the challenges which are faced while creating these assistive devices.
