REVISION OF THE GENUS CNAPHALOCROCIS (LEPIDOPTERA: PYRALOIDEA: CRAMBIDAE) OCCURRING ON RICE IN TAMIL NADU, INDIA

Abstract
Studies revealed the presence of six species of genus Cnaphalocrocis Lederer viz., C. medinalis (Guenee), C. patnalis (Bradley), C. ruralis (Walker), C. trapezalis (Guenee), C. exigua (Butler) and C. poeyalis (Boisduval) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) reported in rice in Tamil Nadu, India. In this paper, mentioned insect pest species have been described taxonomically and illustrated with diagnostic characters. Cnaphalocrocis is used as a synonym of Marasmia.
