Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of issues related to the definition of nature, essence and regularities of the genesis of the process of forming a sense of self-esteem and respect for the national values of Ukrainians in the historical conditions that emerged in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century’s, and the influence of this process on the language question, as interconnected philosophical and legal categories and socio-social phenomena. The author pays special attention to the definition of mechanisms for preserving the Ukrainian language, its use as an influential factor in the formation of a nationally conscious personality of Ukrainians.
