Journal Title: Geographia Napocensis - Year 2015, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
The resilience concept, used to describe the way in which complex adaptive systems behave after disturbances, has experienced rapid growth in the recent decades in ecology and social sciences, while being present in many documents of international institutions. In order to use it in regional planning,a well-adapted definition, an assessing methodology and guidelines for building regional resilience are required. The paper “Resilience in regional planning – conceptual and methodological aspects” makes an overview of the approaches in the scientific literature and presents examples of the resilience thinking being applied in regional planning strategies.
