Rheogram analyse by phase plane method

Abstract

Rheography or impedance plethysmography is a non-invasive medical method of electrical resistance measurements that reflects blood volume changes of a tissue. Rheogram signals are usually processed by the form analyze where quantity assessment based on characteristic point. But rheography signal might be so specific in the case of some disease that this method is not possible to use. Therefore we research possibility of using phase plane method for rheogram analyze for mor e accurate diagnose. We have registered signals from four group of patient: healthy, with vascular dystonia, neurocirculatory dystonia and hypertension pathology. Different types of signal preprocessing in particular filtration with soft threshold are comp ared to accept appropriate result from applying phase plane method. The most appropriate result is achieved by applying discrete wavelet transform with coefficient based on Hirst ratio. Diagnostic value of rheograms analysis by their phase portraits is proved. Especially, it is possible to recognize norm and pathology by two quantitative measures of phase portrait: diameter and square.
