Risk measures of load loss during service of refrigerated containers in seaports
Journal Title: Archives of Transport - Year 2015, Vol 34, Issue 2
Abstract
The presented paper is concerned with the problems of assessing the risk level for service chain of refrigerated containers in seaports. This issue has been examined with regard to the losses related to the loss of cargo’s qualitative values. The paper identifies the links in the service chain as well as related hazards and events resulting in losses. The term “chain” has been defined for the refrigerated container service chain. Material losses generated by the loss of cargo’s qualitative values have also been examined. The paper suggests and justifies functional and numeric risk measures. With regard to the examined process the study presents the elements of loss modelling methodology. The risk level has been evaluated using selected calculation examples, considering the impact of the probability of events resulting in losses.

Control of Pump Operation by Varying Rotational Speed in the Road Infrastructure
The paper evaluates applicability of pumping plants to road infrastructure. A comparative analysis is undertaken of the cascade control system of pump operation and the control system of pump operation by varying of rota...
Application of Wavelet Transform into Precise Localization of Railway Rail Edges in Visual Diagnostic of Track
The paper presents the application of wavelet transform into precise localization of railway rail edges. The precise localization of inner edges of the rail is particularly crucial in detection of surface flaws by the vi...
Analysis of travel behaviour in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia: an application of the theory of planned behaviour
In order to understand travellers’ willingness to use the train in Petaling Jaya, this study adds four predictors - situational factors, trust, novelty seeking and external influence - to the existing model of theory of...
A perceptual-behavioural approach with non-parametric experimental coefficient for urban parking business design
Transportation science and integrated logistics of passengers in the cities provide a detailed study of the movements both on entry to the urban areas than within them. Parking lots are, very often, places of exchange be...
