The novel ends with a hope that their suffering can only be dissolved if they are educated. Samaresh Basu’s ‘Ganga’ is centred around ‘Ganga ‘, the sacred river of Bengal . It also deals with the fishermen community and the brokers .It portrays how the fishermen risk their lives in the ‘Ganga’ and listen to the un ignorable call of the sea for their survival.
