Robotics in mining exemplified by Mobile Inspection Platform
Journal Title: Mining – Informatics, Automation and Electrical Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 526, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper presents the Mobile Inspection Platform (MPI) – the innovative solution in the area of safety in underground coal mining. The robot is equipped with devices and sensors that allow the safe exploration and monitoring of these mine regions, that have environmental conditions which are potentially dangerous for a worker. The paper describes in details also the process and results of tests conducted in the Central Mines Rescue Station (CSRG).

Selected issues of identifying dynamic properties of hard coal flotation process
The article features selected issues related to the identification of dynamic properties of the hard coal flotation process, as an object with one control input and one output. The content of ash in flotation tailings, a...
Study of functional performance improvements for cutting teeth mounted on bucket wheel excavators operating in Oltenia coal basin – Romania
The values of the resultant forces acting on the cutting teeth of BWEs can either be calculated or determined using experimental methods. Based on this, the position and parameters of the working organs during the cuttin...
Planning experiment for laboratory tests on rock abrasivity
The physical and mechanical properties of rocks (i.e., compressive strength, tensile strength, workability, or compactness) are often taken into account during the selection of a mining method and type of mining machine...
Loads and basic exposures of contact systems of electric switches
Insulation systems and electric contacts of electric power switches are components that are damaged most often. The electric strength to the breakdown of the electric switch contact gap is measured by the electric field...
Power supply unit for the excitation of a synchronous motor with a reactive power regulator
The article features the development of a complete power supply unit for the excitation of a synchronous motor with a non-contact excitation circuit. The implemented algorithms for start-up control allow to start the mot...
