Родовища бурштину України та перспективи їх освоєння

Abstract
Проаналізовано геологічні умови утворення й територіального поширення родовищ бурштину в Україні. Виділено основні бурштиноносні басейни, стисло схарактеризовано бурштиноносні зони, визначено перспективні ділянки. Установлено деякі порушення під час видобування бурштину, зокрема незаконний видобуток, що загрожує екологічному стану довкілля та призводить до втрати промислового значення цих родовищ. --- Geological conditions for formation and territorial distribution of amber deposits in Ukraine have been analyzed. Amber deposits for jewelry production are connected with the Baltic-Dnieper Subprovince within the Ukrainian part of which two amber-bearing basins – Prypiat and Dnipro Basins have been singled out. The most promising region of Ukraine as to amber formations is a southern and northwest slope of the Ukrainian Shield. Commercial amber deposits within the Prypiat Basin are mostly connected with two seams of Oligocene quartz sands, the content of amber in which varies from a few grams to a few hundred grams per cubic meter. Certain violations at amber extraction have been revealed, in particular unauthorized extraction, threatening to an eco-friendly environmental condition and leading to a loss of commercial significance of these deposits.
