Safety Culture in Modern Aviation Systems – Civil and Military
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2016, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
Understanding important aspects of the safety culture should be the main objective for identifying hazards, mitigate and manage risk and find solutions to problems before accidents and incidents occur. The two defining elements of aeronautical decision-making are hazard and risk; risk management is an important component of decisional process and by understanding some issues regarding risk and safety, we will be able to realize the feasible solutions that we may have to apply in flight or ground operations. As aviation is in continous development and worldwide expansion, in order to better understand the associated risks and mitigate them, proper control methods which can give a thoroughly comprehension of the aeronautical system must be used.

Numerical study of rocket upper stage deorbiting using passive electrodynamic tether drag
The purpose of this article is a numerical study of the possibility of deorbiting a rocket upper stage from low Earth orbit at EOM (end of mission) by means of passive electrodynamic tether drag. The article is structure...
The behavior of multilayer ceramic protections at quick thermal shock
Protective layers of “hot parts” of the turbo engines as well as co-generative systems of energy industry are exposed to a combination of wear factors which may act together at high values. The main goal of the paper is...
Dynamics of shell with destructive heat-protective coating under running load
The problem of dynamic deformation of a plate with a two-layer composite shell with a heat-shattering coating collapsing in time under the action of a running load is solved approximately. The problem is solved in a dyna...
A Stronger EU in Cosmos: Embracing the Concept of Space Security
The recently unveiled EU Global Strategy for Foreign and Security Policy presents bold and ambitious plans in several increasingly important domains for Europe, including outer space. The EU has committed itself to secur...
Development of a Three-Dimensional Unstructured Euler Solver for High-Speed Flows
This paper addresses the solution of the compressible Euler equations on hexahedral meshes for supersonic and hypersonic flows. Spatial discretization is accomplished by a cell-centered finite-volume formulation which em...
