Satisfaction and limitation in the daily of community health agents

Abstract
The Health System Unity gained sustentation from the implantation of the Communitarian Health Agents Program in 1991 and the Family Health Program in 1994. Such strategies are based on the work of the Community Health Agents (ACS) that it exerts important paper in the construction of the bond and liability, promoting the link between team and community. The aim was to investigate the satisfaction and limitation in the daily work of the ACS. Qualitative study, that applied a questionnaire with 23 ACSs, in Teixeira city, on may of 2006. The Discourse Technique of the collective subject was made for the data analysis. The evidenced reasons of satisfaction were: the recognition of the families with their work, the improvement of the health of the families, the pointers of morbi-mortality. The limitations include the difficulties of work, the lack of recognition of the managers, the precarious socioeconomic conditions of the families and the health of the ACS. The satisfaction lived deeply for the ACSs is reason of pleasure and professional accomplishment, on the other hand, the limitations, make the course of the work difficult, affecting the physical and psychosocial health.
