Scanning Electron Microscopic study on few Diatoms from KRP Dam, Tamil Nadu- India
Journal Title: Journal of Research in Biology - Year 2011, Vol 1, Issue 6
Abstract
A study was carried out to examine the morphology of diatom species in Krishnagiri Reservoir, Tamil Nadu. The sediment samples were collected and transferred immediately in to zip lock bags to avoid the oxidation. Then the samples were stored at 5ÂșC in an ice box and carefully transferred to the laboratory. The sediment sample was treated with acid wash before detailed observation under the light and electron microscopes. All samples were identified up to species level based on Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) observations. The SEM photographs provided fine morphological features of the species for easy identification. Qualitative aspects of the differences between LM (Light Microscope) and SEM approaches are discussed in the text

Effects of extruded diets with different energy levels on fat Body composition and profile of fatty acids of Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fed extruded diets with different energy levels
We have evaluated the influence of energy level on the ratio of digestible protein and digestible energy on the body composition and fatty acid profile composition of fillet in rainbow trout. Two extruted diets with diff...
Identification of Animal Pasteurellosis by PCR Assay
Diagnosis of pasteurellosis has become difficult, as there are five different capsular types and 16 somatic types. Molecular techniques like PCR are adapted nowadays for rapid and accurate diagnosis in early stage of the...
