School violence and its impact on the educational achievement of high school students in Riyadh city

Abstract

The research aims to identify the forms of violence prevailing among high school students in Riyadh and to identify the main reasons for the violence. The research aims to identify the relationship of violence with students’ educational attainment. To achieve the research goal, the researcher followed the prescriptive curriculum. He designed a questionnaire and applied it to a sample of 600 high school students in Riyadh. This identification included the collection of preliminary information, the type of violent behaviour, the demographics of their lives, their parents’ level of education and the neighbourhood where they live, and the researcher was able to obtain some important information, such as the cumulative rate of the system. “Noor”, developed by the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia, the researcher also found that one of the reasons for students to engage in school violence is the large number of brothers and sisters within the family in addition to the frequent parental fight, The frequent riots within the school, and the study recommended that the Ministry of Education strictly intensify its actions against those who engage in school violence, Attention to raising families’ awareness of the seriousness of the media in developing aggressive motivations among students and urged families to censor television and provide counselling services to high school pupils on a permanent basis to urge them to refrain from violence.
