SCULPTURE IN THE ROUND OF JULIA SEGAL IN 1980s

Abstract
The features of plastic expressiveness and characteristic features of the figurative system of Yu. Segal were investigated by the example of the sculpture in the round of the 1980s. The methodology of the study is to use analytical, contextual and comparative methods. These approaches contribute to a comprehensive study of the sculpture's creativity. Scientific novelty: the study is the first time an art analysis of works of round sculpture by Yu. Segal of 1980s, on the basis of which the idea of the creative style of the artist is formed. Conclusions. In 1980s Yu. Segal created works on social themes and appealed to the portrait genre. Sculptures in the round of this period are distinguished by the skillful transmission of the spirit of time and the deep psychology of the represented images. The texture of the surface of the material gives to the sculptures the sence of vitality. The combination of realism and philosophical subtext in the interpretation of plots and characters, the conventions and conciseness in space solving determine the specifics of the creative method of Yu. Segal in 1980s.
