Seasonal variation in the benthic fauna of Krishnagiri reservoir, Tamilnadu
Journal Title: Journal of Research in Biology - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 5
Abstract
The diversity of benthic invertebrates from in and around Krishnagiri reservoir was studied during the period of Jan 2006-June 2008. The benthic index calculated using Oligochaeta communities with environmental characteristics considering the variation over a period of time was done from Jan 2006 - June 2008. Oligochaeta species abundance was consistently higher in the eutrophicated reservoir, evidently proved by literatures. In the statistical analysis benthic communities are grouped by season rather than by month, the result revealed that the structure of the Oligochaeta community was mainly influenced by environmental parameters. The results presented in this paper is helpful to evaluate the current status of the reservoir using the diversity of benthic community

Effect of pressure on the denaturation of whey antibacterial proteins
Lactoferrin, IgG and lactoperoxidase provide health benefits. The antimicrobial properties of these proteins permit the use of them as supplements for nutraceutical products. These properties are vulnerable during proces...
Pollen morphology of the species of Hernandiaceae, Monimiaceae and Siparunaceae from the Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil
This work describes pollen grains from the species of Hernandiaceae (Sparattanthelium), Monimiaceae (Mollinedia), and Siparunaceae (Siparuna) from a 100 km2 area, Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke (03º00'00''S – 59º52'40''...
Insecticide induced changes in haemolymph protein profiles of Spodoptera frugiperda (F) (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae)
Nine insecticides were evaluated for their toxicity (LC50) and 50% lethal times (LT50) against 3rd instar Spodoptera frugiperda larvae. Two groups of insecticides were identified based on LC50 and LT50 values. Bright® 30...
