Segmentation techniques used image reconigation and SAR Image Processing

Abstract
Image segmentation is the process of partitioning an image intomultiple segments, so as to changethe representation of an image into something that is more meaningful and easier to analyze.Several generalpurposealgorithms and techniques have beendeveloped for image segmentation.This paper describes thedifferent segmentation techniques used in the field of ultrasound and SAR Image Processing. Firstly this paperinvestigates and compiles some of the technologies used for image segmentation.Then a bibliographical surveyof current segmentation techniques is given in this paper and finally general tendencies in image segmentationare presented .
