SEJM CONSTITUTION OF 1611: CONTEXT OF UKRAINIAN VOIEVODESHIPS OF THE POLISH-LITHUANIAN COMMONWEALTH

Abstract

The author examines the Constitution of 1611 and the issue of Ukrainian voievodeships. The author shows the conditions under which the Constitution was formed and the peculiarities of the foreign and the domestic policy of the state in that period; presents the results of the previous sessions, explains their ineffectiveness. In this article the characteristic of the Constitution of 1611 is given as well as its date, its agenda, the master sergeants and the result of the sessions. The article deals with key issues of Ruthenian, Kyiv, Belz, Volyn, Bratslav and Podillya voievodeships. It shows the urgent affairs of each of the voievodeships, describes common and particular features of the voievodeships. The article investigates the problem of safety of the border territories, economy, parliamentary, rewriting rural books and demarcation of the territories. The article illustrates the process of solving local problems by local sergeants and reproduces the mechanism of transfer of the issues to the Constitution. The author reviews a range of issues of each territorial unit. The article explores the differences and similarities in the lives of voievodeships.
