Selection of coding vectors for Random Linear Network Coding

Abstract

This paper aims to explore Random Linear Network Coding and bring out insights on generation of coding vectors used for encoding. RLNC improve the performance of the network using inherent broadcast characteristic of wireless networks. The challenge of the technique is the generation of coding vectors over a finite field GF (2m) used to combine the packets. The results in this paper highlight the probability of selecting coding vectors with respect to the number of coded packets generated over a finite field GF (2m).
