Abstract
Sergey V. Levashov was а rector of Novorossiysk University from 1907 to 1913. In 1910 Odessa higher female medical courses that were organized by an initiative of S. V. Levashov have began their operations, where teaching were conducted according to the same curriculum and in the same volume as at medical school of the Novorossiysk University. Professor Levashov was one of the first scientists in the world, who installed in clinic x-ray machine. Reporters of that time called Sergei Vasilyevich “surgeon of Russian patriotism”. They were close to understanding the moral motivations of the parliamentary activities of doctor of medicine Sergei Vasilyevich Levashov. Just correct he should have been called not a “surgeon” but “physician of the state patriotism”, because professor Levashov in his medical practice avoided surgical intervention in treatment of patients.
