SEX-RELATED DIFFERENCES OF ANAEROBIC CAPASITY IN YOUNG JUDO ATHLETES

Journal Title: Medycyna Sportowa - Year 2006, Vol 22, Issue 2

Abstract

Background. WINGATE test, being the most popular laboratory supra maximal exercise, is in common use for anaerobic capacity rating in strength-velocity trained athletes. Our paper presents the result of the study on anaerobic capacity in young male and female judoists of different age and training experience.Material and methods. Young judoists, males (n=39) of aged 17.7±1.4y, and age-and-experience-matched females (n=42), were subjected to the study on lower limbs anaerobic capacity with using WINGATE 30 s. test on cycloergometer. The exertions were performed before noon (10: 00-12: 00 am). The following parameters were taken into consider: peak power (PP), work output (WO) as absolute values, and their relative values adjusted to Body Mass (PP/BM) and (WO/BM), time measured from start to PP reaching (TR), time of maintenance power near PP value (TM) and value of fatigue index (FI) expressed as percentage of decline of power observed from PP to the end of the bout. Results. The results revealed well known significant (p
