SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER IDENTITY IN EUROPE AND THE UNITED STATES DURING THE MIDDLE AGES AND THE RENAISSANCE: HISTORICALAND LEGAL EXCURSION

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the provision in the area of sexual orientation and gender identity right during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The criminal laws prohibiting "sodomy "are analyzed in the countries of Europe and the USA. Practical examples are considered in relation to sentencing and punishing of same-sex physical intercourses.
