Sexual transmission diseases: a review

Abstract
The statistics of the main international health organizations show that the most affected by sexually transmitted infections (ITS) are young people, they can also have consequences that affect the rest of their lives. Nor do their study centers provide reliable information on the subject. They prefer the face to face relationship, the internet and social networks insofar as they allow interactivity and dialogue. That is why the objective of this article is: identify sexually transmitted diseases in university students. Methodology: non-experimental research was used as a method, because the variables will not be manipulated, but they will be shown as they are, as a design, documentary research was used, because documentary study was made of the different types of sexually transmitted diseases to which university students are exposed. Development: Different sexually transmitted diseases were identify, such as: genital herpes, blenorrhagia, syphilis, tricomoniasis, genital warts and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and the most recurrent way of contagion is experimentation and lack of protection in sexual activity. Conclusion: Counseling interventions and behavioral approaches represent primary prevention against ITS, through: comprehensive sex education, counseling before and after ITS and HIV testing; advice on safer sex practices and risk reduction, promotion of the use of condoms. Interventions targeting key population groups, including sex workers, gay men and injecting drug users; and sex counseling and education adapted to the needs of adolescents
