SHELF LIFE MANAGEMENT OF THE TURNOVER IN THE RETAIL NETWORK

Abstract
The problem of selling products with expired shelf life term is analyzed and its main component is determined. It is noted that the main shortcoming of the methods proposed for solving the assigned problem is their unprofitability for the seller. It is proposed to introduce the use of a barcode including the expiration date of the product for improvement of the logistics processes in retail trade. The expediency of using such a barcode is substantiated basing on the possibility of implementing a system of stage-by-stage discounts for goods. We have proved the economic efficiency of using the method of stage-by-stage price reduction based on the developed coding system.
