Short term outcome of use of locking compression plates for treatment of galeazzi fracture-dislocation using anderson & sisk score
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Objective: The study focusses on short term outcomes of locking compression plating for treatment of Galeazzi fracture- dislocation using Anderson & Sisk score. Introduction: The Galeazzi fracture is an unstable fracture-dislocation of the forearm that includes a fracture of the shaft of the radius and a dislocation of the distal radio-ulnar joint (DRUJ). The goal of the treatment is an anatomic reduction and a rigid internal fixation of the radial fracture and also restoration of normal anatomy of the distal radio-ulnar joint. Methodology: A cohort of 15 patients with Galeazzi fracture-dislocation treated with locking compression plates between January 2016 to January 2017 were assessed for 6 months and final result was analysed using Anderson & Sisk score. Results: Using the Anderson & Sisk scoring system 86.66% patients (13) achieved excellent results, 6.66% patients (1) achieved satisfactory results and 6.66% patients (1) achieved unsatisfactory results.

Functional and radiological outcome of subtrochanteric fracture treated with proximal femoral nail
Subtrochanteric fractures are one of the common fractures encountered in general population following a fall due to high velocity injury warranting immediate and active intervention. The main benefit of Proximal Femoral...
Malunion in floating knee injuries – An analysis in 30 patients presenting to a tertiary care facility and are surgically treated
Floating Knee is the term applied to the flail knee joint segment resulting from a fracture of the shaft or adjacent metaphysis of the ipsilateral femur and tibia The fractures range from simple diaphyseal to complex art...
To compare the functional outcome of cross k-wires v/s lateral k-wires in Gartland type-III supracondylar humerus fracture in paediatric age groups
Introduction: Supracondylar fractures of the humerus are very common fractures in pediatric age groups. If displaced, preferred treatment is close reduction with percutaneous K-wire fixation. This study compares the func...
Intertrochanteric fracture of femur in elderly – A comparative analysis between hemiarthroplasty and osteosynthesis
Background: Fixation of Intertrochanteric fractures Boyd and Griffin type 3 & 4 in elderly is a challenge due to its fracture pattern & the need to protect the fixation from stresses of weight bearing, to prevent implant...
Ender Nail versus Dynamic Compression Plating For Humeral Shaft Fractures
Aim: To compare ender nail with dynamic compression plating for humeral shaft fractures in terms of functional outcomes, union and complication rates. Methods: 30 men and 20 women aged >18 years with fresh humeral shaft...
