Shot Peening of a Mg-Al-Zn-Mn Alloy Surface

Abstract

The paper describes the influence of shot peening on Mg-Al-Zn-Mn alloy surface. There are estimates focusing on the roughness of the shot peened surfaces and size of the selected shot peened material – corund. Based on the results of measurements, the evaluation was oriented on the curve of roughness, functionality of surface roughness [i]R[/i][sub]a[/sub] and the necessary quantity of shot peening material [i]q[/i][sub]nR[/sub] of estimated material depending on the grain size [i]d[/i][sub]z[/sub].
